Meet Yannick,

one of our Software Engineers

What do you do at Cheops?

I am a Software Engineer and usually work on long-term projects at the customer's site. I help the customer with programming their applications.

What are the qualities needed in your job?

In my position, firstly, you have to be driven to go the extra mile for your customers, because they come first. The point is to you always look for the best solutions. After all, as a consultant you represent the Cheops image. In addition, you also have to be able to work independently, because as a consultant you are often the only person from Cheops working in this different environment. Finally, it is important that you want to continuously improve yourself. There are all kinds of training courses available for you to do this. If you have the drive and are keen to seize opportunities to develop yourself, you can do that here.

What is your personal ambition?

I have the cycling bug. I try to spend every hour of my spare time on my bike. I am a member of a cycling club and combine cycle racing with mountain biking. In cycling, perseverance is important: you always need to have a goal in mind and be willing to take risks during descents. So I also apply my drive in my passion. My ambition is to cycle the Galibier and Mont Ventoux.

What are your ambitions at Cheops?

My main ambition at Cheops today is to build up experience, to learn and continue developing in my job. So that I keep on getting better.

Why did you choose Cheops?

I studied applied informatics and so I was interested in IT anyway. As of my very first contact with Cheops, it seemed to me to be a very nice company with nice people. In the meantime, I have been here for one and a half years and I really enjoy working at Cheops. It is a top company in all areas: you work on interesting projects, there is a lot of support from your colleagues and everyone wants the best for you.
