Cheops grows out of its seams and moves to new business park

Kontich, 3 March 2022 - The Belgian IT specialist Cheops experienced strong growth in 2021. Both turnover and the number of employees went up. The brand new, ultramodern head office provides even more space to accommodate further growth ambitions.

15% revenue growth

Cheops saw its turnover rise to over 40 million euros last year, an increase of 15% compared with 2020. At the same time, the IT specialist was able to recruit no fewer than 61 new employees, despite the shortage on the labor market. As a result, the workforce grew to 350 permanent employees. This is confirmation of the position that Cheops occupies as a leading employer and provider of IT-services.

Rising demand for Cybersecurity, Cloud and Managed Services

The growth of Cheops in 2021 was primarily driven by the increasing demand for cloud and cybersecurity solutions among medium and large companies. By outsourcing specialized IT tasks, companies can focus on their own core activities. Moreover, they then have less or no need to recruit their own IT specialists.

Filip Goos, CEO of Cheops: "Companies of all sizes are working on an accelerated digital transformation. They can obviously tackle that process much more efficiently by working with a specialist Managed Services Provider such as Cheops. Security against cyber-attacks is also increasingly high on the agenda of our companies."

Millions invested in new offices

Due to its continuing growth, Cheops had been looking for a new location for some time and is now moving its headquarters to the brand-new Gate 7 Business Park in Kontich. This involved an investment of more than 10 million euros. The new location not only offers more space, but also a comfortable and inspiring working environment with all the modern options for employees and customers to work and meet flexibly.

Sustainable and easily accessible

The sustainability of the new location was an important motivation for the move. The building is equipped with the most advanced and ecological techniques for energy-efficient cooling, ventilation and heating. In addition, smart lighting has been installed in the offices. The offices are equipped with a fully-fledged fitness room, a spacious auditorium and the Cheops Café with a roof terrace. Thanks to its strategic location close to the E19, A12 and Antwerp ring road, access is optimal and there is also a fast link to the offices in Zaventem and Ghent.

Filip Goos: "Our new head office in Business Park Gate 7 is a magnet for talent that can develop and grow here. We are extremely proud of this important step; the building is fully in line with our vision and ambitions."
