Kontich, November 17, 2025 Cheops can now officially call itself Baanbrekende Werkgever 2026. This recognition is awarded to organizations that focus on sustainable and future-oriented work, with attention to people, growth, and connection. For Cheops, it is a strong confirmation of the path the company has been following for years: growing with ambition, entrepreneurship, and proximity.

What is "Baanbrekende Werkgever?"

The Baanbrekende Werkgever label is an initiative by Antwerp Management School. It is a learning network of organizations that aim to develop and position themselves as sustainable and people-oriented employers. Each participating organization follows its own journey from challenge to action plan.

In 2025, the network of HR professionals focuses on five current themes: a well-being approach that works, an effective career policy, a realistic view on inclusion, more autonomous teams, and sustainable behavior.

Cheops was recognized for its inspiring approach to leadership and autonomy—two pillars deeply embedded in the company culture.

Growth through Entrepreneurship and Humanity

In just five years, Cheops has doubled its workforce from 275 to over 500 employees. Yet Cheops remains true to its people-oriented culture, with a strong focus on personal connection, talent development, and well-being. Behind this growth lies a pronounced entrepreneurial mindset and a clear strategy and vision on learning and leadership. Over the past years, Cheops has invested heavily in developing team leaders and coordinators to strengthen autonomy and limit hierarchy.

In the knowledge-intensive IT sector, continuous development is essential. Through the Cheops Academy, employees have the opportunity to keep learning via technical training, group courses, and individual learning paths.

A key part of this is the clearly defined career paths—or “metromaps”—that show the steps leading to roles such as system administrator, architect, or project manager. In addition, every employee has access to a LinkedIn Learning account, making learning accessible and flexible.

Beyond technical knowledge, we also place great emphasis on soft skills such as communication, leadership, and customer focus. This way, our people not only grow in expertise but also in confidence and agility.

Talent Managers and Connection as the Foundation

At Cheops, Talent Managers play a key role as coaches and sounding boards. They guide employees in their development, monitor training, and help shape ambitions into concrete plans. This way, every colleague receives personal support and someone who actively thinks along about their career.

Cheops also strengthens connection through initiatives such as CEO Connect sessions, where employees engage directly with the CEO. In addition, numerous community and technical events and employee-driven initiatives contribute to this—from sports competitions and quizzes to the Cheops Cycling Club. Many of these activities originate from employees themselves. Cheops actively encourages this entrepreneurial spirit and gives teams the space and resources to bring their own ideas to life.
